recipe used

yesterday i woke up & was craving tomato soup. no particular reason but all i knew was that it was going to happen somehow. i've recently discovered my love for tomato soup & it has that homey feeling that you need when it's chilly outside & you just want to be all warm inside.  & yes we dice our onions with sunglasses on. 

after that we headed to humphry slocombe , last times humphry's adventure, i indulged in a scoop of secret breakfast ( cereal & bourbon) & malted dulce de leche. delicious, although next time one scoop will probably suffice.

just some photos of the hike my best friend & i went on yesterday at angel island. the last time i went to angel island i was celebrating my ninth or tenth birthday & all i can remember was all the goat poop. this time we walked around the perimeter of the island getting all different & beautiful views of the ocean, army ruins that were used up until 1962, & tons of scary looking birds. afterwards we made our way  to humphry slocombe for a well deserved treat. i had the secret breakfast (mentioned here) & harvey milk honey graham, my friend had the blue bottle coffee and the maple walnut. we were tempted to go back for seconds, but we made a quick escape to avoid a health catastrophe. 

dolores park

 i hardly ever go to dolores park, mostly because i'd like to avoid the crowds of tourists, hipsters, children, etc basking in the sun like iguanas. but when i do go to dolores park i remember why there are crowds in the first place. it is beautiful! & so much fun with the right weather. i went yesterday twice for work (i'm a camp counselor) with a group of 10 children! not exactly relaxing but still beautiful.

when i do go to dolores park i make sure to grab some ice cream from this place, it's an sf must. my flavors of choice: salted caramel and ricanelas (cinnamon with snickerdoodles).

there is nothing better than trying out new spots to eat in san francisco because the city has so much to offer. and on a nice day it's almost a given that ice cream is on my mind.  my friends and i ventured to a new ice cream shop called the ice cream bar. it's set up as a '30s soda fountain with ice cream made daily, sundaes, & ice cream sandwiches with flavors like sweet corn and honey buttermilk. i ended up getting banana pudding ice cream between two oatmeal raisin cookies. at this place you could choose something at random and you'll probably have a new fav.
