1/2/2013

recipe used
yesterday i woke up & was craving tomato soup. no particular reason but all i knew was that it was going to happen somehow. i've recently discovered my love for tomato soup & it has that homey feeling that you need when it's chilly outside & you just want to be all warm inside.  & yes we dice our onions with sunglasses on.

after that we headed to humphry slocombe , last times humphry's adventure, i indulged in a scoop of secret breakfast ( cereal & bourbon) & malted dulce de leche. delicious, although next time one scoop will probably suffice.

2013

flying into SF// cheeky ornament// christmas tree// brunch at toast// ringing in the new year.

when i was little i imagined that by 2013 we'd have helicopter cars. my younger self is disappointed. a new year often brings new resolutions, new memories, & new adventures. i haven't taken the time yet to make resolutions. maybe i'll follow my dad's advice, "no resolutions cause i never stick to them. i just always strive to improve myself and be a better person."

all the lights

it's holiday time in tacoma/seattle! this weekend i headed up to seattle for a concert (The Shins!- post to come) and it was great to see the city all dazzled for the holidays. all the christmas lights and trees make me ache for home. Luckily only 2 finals, and 4 days stand in my way until i'm back in san francisco! i also headed to zoo lights and saw some feisty tiger cubs. happy monday! (i'm officially done with accounting!)

what i've missed

my last post was november 7, that's almost a full month! so while i've been MIA from the blog world i've missed out on quite a bit, but with winter break just on the horizon ( 9 days!) i'm planning on devoting some hardcore time to blogging, because to be honest i really enjoy it.

bookworm

via

i'm not the first person to say this nor will i be the last but reading is a ton of fun. it's probably because books let me go to a different place and time all from my bed. however i often find myself not having time or not making time to read just for fun, cause accounting isn't usually light reading. but books have been on my mind lately so here are a few of the books on my to read list. are there any books you recommend? have you read any of these?

the paris wife by Paula McLain

paper towns by John Green

memoires of a geisha by Arthur Golden

where'd you go, bernadette? by Maria semple
